Legend of the Glass ~ Poem

my glass is half empty
again!

i don't want to get up
i'm tired of rising
to fill it up

one last trip
to the river tonight
i'll leave the glass
half empty

legend says
by tomorrow
it will be half full

amazing
the difference
a day makes!

Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.”

God Unmasked ~ Poem

the congregation gathered
watching,
praying
devout followers
of the masked god

the reveal, an omen
discouraged and encouraged
curiosity prevailed

the porcelain mask
crumbled
slowly,
piece by piece
spiraling into the ether
revealing the almighty

god

the parishioners gasped
staring into the darkness,
the void
emptiness

unmasked:
 the
first god

and
the last

Chaos

with their
final words
the believers
wrote:

"chaos wears
a mask to be seen
without a mask
chaos swallows
everything

do not unmask
your gods"

~ Elizabeth Anne Ives
