Paint Me Colors ~ Poem

paint me colors
of blue and green
paint outside the life of me
paint my lips a rosy hue
a kissable ruby red will do
paint my heart to the rainbow's end
then blend and blend
and blend again
create a kaleidoscope of my hair
spun of gold and silverware
chartreuse feathers on my brow
with eyes of ocean's sapphire blue
paint me colors so i can see
all the beauty that is you

Poetry ~ Folly

i am scattered everywhere
so many thoughts
so little time
to discover folly
to play, laugh,
find joy
to be foolish and fool hearty
i want to frolic in the flower fields
run my fingers through your hair
i am your folly
your freedom
your spirit
your canvas
your muse

Crystal Magic ~ My Art

It’s okay if you don’t believe in crystal magic, but maybe you’ll get a kick out of my clever re-purposing of an old pencil box.

I have a cool collection of crystals in mini jars that I’ve wanted to display. They were hidden away in a drawer. An idea came to me when I was surfing Pinterest for shadow boxes – turn my pencil box into a wall shelf/shadow box to display the crystals! Functional art!

Years ago, I painted the pencil box using a mashup technique. I called it the “glove box” but never displayed it. The box sat in the corner of my art room gathering dust until I re-purpose it into a mini shelf!

What do you think?

Birds of a Feather ~ Poem

cover me in cosmos
paint my lips blue
cloak me in feathers
of every hue
paint me outlandish
completely out of the square
tease my hair into a
scandalous affair
but please
no matter
what you do
I simply
look like
the rest of
